Jun 20, 2016

Phoenix, Arizona is in the grip of a excessive heat emergency. The temperatures are so high - and for such a sustained period - that people are at risk of heat-related health complications. In order to provide relief to the area's most vulnerable people, The Salvation Army has opened more than a dozen Heat Relief stations throughout Phoenix and the "Valley of the Sun". The stations are opened from 10AM to 2PM on hot days that are declared "heat emergencies" by the National Weather Service.
