Emergency Assistance

Due to the generosity of our community, The Salvation Army of Loudoun can help with your utilities – such as Dominion, NOVEC, and gas. We do not currently help with water. During the heating season (January – May), funds from the Washington Area Fuel Fund (WAFF) and Dominion are available to help with any heating source.

To receive our services, you must provide COPIES of the following items:

Eligibility Guidelines

  • Picture ID for everyone in your household 18 years of age or younger
  • Birth certificates for everyone in the household 18 years of age or younger
  • Proof of income for the past 60 days (pay stubs, SSI letter or bank statement showing deposit, letter from employer, SNAP letter, etc.)
  • Lease, mortgage, or notarized letter from landlord. The 1st page is acceptable, if it includes resident’s names and date of lease
  • Utility bill with the disconnection date

**Our appointments are made on a first come, first serve basis.

At the time of your appointment, you will need to complete and sign a few more items, so please arrive 10 minutes early. Our application includes a section related to your expenses. Be prepared to answer that question.

If you are approved, we will process your application as quickly as possible. However, it can take at least 48 hours to process.
